What is the Arc-Lightning Gun?
Introduced in the v39.00 Chapter 7 launch update, the Arc-Lightning Gun is a Legendary-rarity energy weapon that fires semi-automatic bolts of electricity. Its defining mechanic is chain lightning — when two or more enemies are within 8 meters of each other, the bolt arcs between them, dealing full damage to each target.
This makes it exceptional in squad fights and late-game scenarios where players are grouped in builds or clustered around objectives. In solo situations, it performs comparably to a standard Assault Rifle.
Where to Find It
The Arc-Lightning Gun spawns from the following sources:
- Classified Canyon vault chests (highest spawn rate)
- Humble Hills supply drops
- Human Bill boss drop (guaranteed)
- Rare floor loot at Sandy Strip
- Sharks in Bumpy Bay (uncommon)

This guide is exactly what I needed. The chain mechanic is so underrated — I've been sleeping on this gun since it dropped.
The nerf to this was actually minor — 78 → 72 damage. Still absolutely slaps in mid-range fights. Great breakdown Jordan!
One thing you missed — the gun is incredible for zone damage in the final circles. The chain hits multiple box fighters simultaneously.
Drop locations at Classified Canyon are the most consistent. I've found it in the main vault chest almost every game.
